About Our Family

About St. Thomas Child Care and Preschool

Established in January of 2002, St. Thomas Episcopal Child Care and Preschool strives to provide a stress-free atmosphere filled with stimulating experiences to promote the growth and well-being of the whole child. We use positive, proactive behavior management techniques and age-appropriate activities to meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative needs of each child.

Our program emphasizes developmentally appropriate learning experiences, which encourage a child's natural curiosity, thus allowing the child to develop self-help and communication skills, social competence, and positive self-esteem. The abundance of love, understanding, imagination and fun in our staff members helps children to make an easy transition from home to our center.

Safety and Quality

At St. Thomas, your child's safety and well-being are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a secure environment and the highest standard of care every single day.

Qualified and Caring Teachers

All of our teachers undergo thorough background checks and meet state requirements for education and training. They also participate in ongoing professional development and are CPR-certified to ensure they are fully prepared to care for children safely.

Low Teacher-to-Child Ratios

Smaller group sizes allow our teachers to give each child more individualized attention, fostering stronger connections and a more nurturing learning environment.

Safe and Secure Facility

Our center is licensed, regularly inspected, and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Doors remain locked at all times, and external cameras and intercom systems add an extra layer of security for families' peace of mind.

Daily Routine

At St. Thomas, children thrive in a daily rhythm that blends structure with flexibility. Our schedule is designed to give children a sense of security while encouraging independence, creativity, and growth.

Nutritious Mealtimes

Children enjoy 3 healthy meals and snacks daily, creating opportunities for social connection and learning table manners.

Creative Activities

Planned art projects and hands-on activities are coordinated with weekly themes. Children explore a variety of materials and techniques to encourage imagination, problem-solving, and self-expression.

Outdoor Play

With 2–3 playground visits each day, children build gross motor skills, practice cooperative play, and enjoy fresh air while having fun with friends.

Healthy Habits

Bathroom breaks, diaper changes and handwashing are built into the day, reinforcing routines and helping children develop independence in self-care.

Rest Time

A consistent period of rest allows children to recharge their bodies and minds, preparing them for more learning and play throughout the day.

Learning & Growth

Our daily routine creates a safe, nurturing environment where children feel at home, gain confidence, and build the foundational skills they need to grow.
